More than 3,000 Fans Greet Jack Roush at Imperial Ford

Jack Roush is used to dealing with large crowds during his ROUSH® dealer appearances, but nothing could prepare him for the mass that showed up for the August 7 event at Imperial Ford in Mendon, Mass.

More than 3,000 people came out to meet the motorsports legend who has been tied to the Ford Motor Company since the 1960s. People were lined up seven deep and started screaming the moment he stepped out of the limo that brought him from the airport he flew into directly from his NASCAR trackside duties at Watkins Glen International.

Roush was overheard commenting, “This really sets the bar. Since I’ve been doing these dealer appearances this is the most people I’ve ever seen.” Reportedly, fans came from states all around the Northeast and many had to park over a mile away from the dealership.

In addition to meeting Roush, attendees were able to enjoy a car show that featured more than 600 vehicles, including 50 ROUSH® Mustangs. Imperial Ford also had a live DJ spinning tunes, raffles, food and plenty of entertainment. An impromptu burnout contest was held as the show vehicles left, much to the delight of the crowd lining the street.

“It’s free, it’s America, it’s the last American freedom” said William Ramsey of Uxbridge, Mass., one of the hundreds who lined up to watch the show cars leave black strips of rubber on their way out of the Imperial Ford parking lot.

Reportedly, Imperial Ford was working on several car sales which came as a result of this dealer appearance. These dealer appearances by Roush are just another way of him thanking Ford for their support over the years, as well as to meet the people that have followed his race teams and the ROUSH® Performance business over the decades.
