Propane Truck Giveaway Fueled by Stories from the Field

PropaneF150Building377x251 WASHINGTON — Everyone enjoys a good story. But seldom does telling one put you behind the wheel of a propane-fueled truck.

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) links storytelling and pickups as part of its new Propane Tank Tales Program, an initiative to collect valuable information about propane use on the farm. Through the Propane Tank Tales Program, one lucky farmer who tells a story about how he uses propane on his operation will be randomly selected and drive away with a propane-fueled ROUSH® F-150 pickup.

“We are always looking to hear from the field about how propane is being used on the farm,” says PERC Director of Agriculture Programs Mark Leitman. “The Propane Tank Tales Program is another way for us to engage our customers in a meaningful dialogue. Whether they’re using a propane-fueled technology in weed control or grain drying, irrigation or heating, we want them to share their stories with us. Plus, it’s going to be really fun to give away the propane-fueled ROUSH® F-150.”

From now until October 30, every farmer who fills out a Propane Tank Tales Program application at www.agpropane.com/tanktales will receive a pair of propane-branded work gloves. Eligible producers will be automatically entered into the random drawing for the truck. To be eligible to win the vehicle, the producer must meet a few requirements:

  • Use at least 1,500 gallons of propane annually on the farm.
  • Use the fuel in an agricultural application, not for home heating or another non-farming purpose.
  • Be a propane customer in good standing with his fuel supplier.
  • Be a U.S. agricultural producer.
  • Be a legal driver who is 21 years of age or older.

PERC’s vision is that by 2010 the agricultural industry will embrace propane as a preferred energy source that offers cost-effectiveness, efficiency and productivity, reliability, portability, and environmental friendliness.
